Under £10, the Italian red selection at Aldi is not the strongest, but this is a notable exception. It's quite extracted, with bold, rich and concentrated dark berry flavours and earthy spices on a medium-bodied palate balanced by brisk acidity and rustic, dusky tannins. A great mid-week option to pair with a hearty lasagne or mushroom ragu.
