Prosecco rosé is a relatively new category, made with some Pinot Noir in the mix (alongside the traditional Prosecco grape, Glera). Given the enormous popularity of both Prosecco and rosé wines, the concept seems a no-brainer – and indeed the style been a huge success since the first Prosecco rosés found their way to market in late 2020. Extra Dry is not as dry it sounds (with 12-17g/L residual sugar), but this is not overly saccharine. A pretty pale rose pink in the glass, ripe and juicy, with a faint fragrance of sugared strawberries and red berry flavours. A crowd-pleaser.
