New to Majestic's range, this Marlborough Sauvignon draws its fruit entirely from the cool, breezy, coastal Awatere sub-region, hence the wine's evocative name. And yes, there is a lick of salinity to it, and a lifted grapefruit citrus crispness despite the high alcohol. Villa Maria has a reputation for consistency and good value in New Zealand, and this is a solid example of those qualities.
