Craggy Range are one of New Zealand's most famous wine estates, producing wines from grapes sourced from around the country's wine regions. With this Pinot Noir we're in Martinborough on the North Island, with grapes from the cool-climate, stony-clay Te Muna Road vineyard. The wine spent 10 months in French oak, 25% new. Five years after the vintage that oak is totally integrated, adding a warm toastiness, and there's a great level of complexity and evolution, but still a weight of ripe and vibrant strawberry and red plum fruit. Harmonious, and long, and totally ready to drink.
