Available from 11 November, this is made for Waitrose by Quinta da la Rosa, a small estate in the heart of the Douro. It was a dry, hot vintage but a cooler spell during harvest helped this wine retain freshness alongside the hedonistic plummy fruit flavours and spicy, fruit cake notes. Eminently drinkable. AW
