Historic winery Vergelegen, led by winemaker André van Rensburg, has produced this Sauvignon Blanc from selected vineyards, with each parcel vinified separately. Classic grassy, green and herbal tones, with some menthol notes, a hint of kaffir lime leaves and a lime cordial finish. Some lees stirring has lent complexity, and the passion fruit freshness and acidity keeps everything in check. With such varietal typicity, this really is a wine for true Sauvignon Blanc lovers.

The aim here was to produce a fresh, aperitif-style wine, and this is exactly what you get. Selected parcels of fruit grown in Vergelegen's cool-climate estate vineyards are vinified separately, with fermentation in a mix of barrel, wooden tank, concrete tank and stainless steel. The result is a Bordelais-style white with grassy, green pepper aromas, as well as some riper, more tropical fruit notes, plus warm lemon citrus. Crisp, weighty and elegant, this is great value.
