This is a modern expression of Ribera from Bodegas Portia, whose modern winery was designed by British architects Foster & Partners. The winery design features a gravity flow system, which avoids the use of pumps to help preserve the intense fruit flavour and character of the Tempranillo grape from the region. Keenly priced for Ribera, this Finest own-label wine uses grapes from grapes that grow at 850m altitude in the region's prestigious 'Golden Triangle'. Aged for a minimum of seven months in oak, the wine is bursting with spicy forest fruit, slightly jammy in character, with some savoury, meaty notes and some leathery, boot polish complexity. Harmonious and appealing, this would pair well with pork or chorizo – or mushrooms or beans for for non-meat eaters.
