A half-bottle of this for under a tenner? A no-brainer, especially with Christmas around the corner. If you've never tried the PX grape, you're in for a surprise – pour a little and swirl it and you'll get an idea of what lies in store. This has an enormous 380g/L residual sugar, so it's a dessert in itself – indeed many wine Sherry fans serve it over good quality vanilla ice cream for dessert. Glass coating and mouth coating, it's deep in colour and rich with plump fat curranty fruit, dried figs, toffee, and so much more besides. The amazing acidity means that it's not in the least bit cloying, despite the whack of sugar.
