Majestic has seen Ribera del Duero fly off its shelves and so has added this new listing to broaden customer choice. It's made by Pagos del Rey, which was founded 20 years ago and produces wine in a number of Spanish wine regions, and is a blend of young- and old-vine Tempranillo, fermented separately before being blended. The wine spent 409 days in oak – hence the name – followed by several months in bottle. It's made in a creamy, quite polished style, with black fruits, some coconutty vanilla oak notes and a hint of boot polish. Drinking beautifully now, and will evolve over some years to come. (Mix-six price: £11.99)
