The 2017 vintage in Rioja was rated 'very good' by the official Rioja wine body, and Baron de Ley is a good name to look for when you're searching for good-value Rioja. This keenly priced Reserva would make a delicious choice to go with Sunday roast beef. It's very exuberant in character, with sweet blackcurrant fruit and a lick of vanilla from 20 months in American oak, before a further two years in bottle. Good value, and a guaranteed crowd pleaser.
