The Fernández de Manzanos family owns three wineries: two in Rioja, one in Navarra. Rioja lovers will make a beeline for this fragrant, juicy 2011 vintage wine, made from 20- to 30-year-old vines. It's supple in the mouth, with good maturity and ripe damson fruit. The oak is well-integrated and though there's a hint of vanilla, it's not over the top, reflecting the use of mainly second and third use French oak barrels, and just a little new American oak.
