Made for Majestic's Definition range by Schug winery, this is very well-priced at the Mix-six price of £15. It's a medium-bodied, cool-climate expression of New World Pinot Noir, from 25-year-old vines, and aged for eight months 80% in stainless steel (20% new French oak). Allied with Sonoma's naturally cooler climate, the subtle oak treatment gives an aromatic and fragrant wine with juicy strawberry and redcurrant aromas, bright acidity and a seam of minerality. Very drinkable – try it with crispy aromatic duck.
