Ancient Lakes, Eight Thousand Lakes Riesling, Washington State, USA 2019

This comes in at under a tenner as part of a mixed six, which is a great price for Washington State Riesling. It may be New World, but this has more in common with Mosel Riesling than with the often exuberantly limey examples from Australia. Expect a more restrained style, with floral, honeyed apple and peach notes. Modest in alcohol, and bottled under screwcap to ensure maximum freshness. Shellfish would be a great match, maybe with some Thai spice.
