History:
Château Chauvin dates back to 1891 when Libourne dyer Victor Ondet bought the small ‘Domaine de Chauvin’ near the border with Pomerol. The reputation of the wine was established early and the wine’s classé status dates from the original classification of Saint-Emilion in 1954/5. The estate has grown in size over the centuries, most recently with the purchase of a small parcel of land from neighbouring Vieux Château Chauvin by current owners, sisters Béatrice and Marie-France Ondet.
