History:
La Clotte, at the foot of the slopes to the east of Saint-Emilion, is among the oldest properties in the appellation. Its history can be traced back to the 16th century when it formed a small part of the massive de Grailly family estate. In 1912, the Marquis de Grailly sold it to Sylvain Chailleau, who in turn gave it to her son Georges, in 1931. Today, it is Georges Chailleau’s three grand-daughters who are in charge.
