History:
Le Prieuré’s vines lie on the well-exposed south facing slopes on the eastern edge of Saint-Emilion. It’s fine terroir, next door to 1er grand cru classé properties Trottevieille, Troplong-Mondot and Pavie-Macquin. The estate was established as long ago as 1696 – when it was known as ‘Le Cru des Cordeliers’ – and since 1897 has been in the hands of the Guichard family. It is today run by Aline Guichard and her husband Paul Goldschmidt (under the Baronne Guichard banner). Aline’s father, Olivier Guichard, completely restructured the vineyards and cellars during his ownership.
