Dr. Ágnes Csiba Herczeg is a judge at the 2026 Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA).

Dr. Ágnes Csiba-Herczeg is a distinguished wine professional and consultant with over two decades of experience in the wine industry. She holds a PhD in Economics, specializing in international relations, and has been immersed in the world of wine since 2000. In 2010, she earned the WSET diploma and became a WSET certified educator, followed by the fine and rare wine specialist title in 2011. Her accolades include the woman of the year entrepreneurial award in 2015 and the wine winner of the future 50 award in 2019.

Dr. Csiba-Herczeg has been leading her own wine consultancy since 2007, collaborating with numerous Hungarian and international wineries. She has served as a wine consultant and advisor for Lidl Hungary and currently holds the position of leading wine strategist at SPAR Hungary, where she plays a pivotal role in shaping the company’s wine selection and strategy.

In academia, she is a senior research fellow at the Tokaj-Hegyalja University and researcher at the University of Pécs, contributing to the advancement of wine studies. Dr. Csiba-Herczeg is also responsible for developing and leading the Tokaj Ambassador program, further reinforcing her role as a key figure in the global promotion of Hungarian wines.

Born and raised in India, Shivani is the awards manager at Decanter, managing the 300-strong cohort of worldwide judges for the world's largest wine competition, the Decanter World Wine Awards, ensuring a seamless judging process and driving the competitive integrity of the awards. After earning a master’s in wine management from the Burgundy School of Business, she moved to London in 2016 and completed her WSET diploma. While Burgundy holds a special place in her heart, Champagne is her go-to bottle. Alongside her full-time role, she has been dipping her toes into wine writing, relishing the opportunity to bring wine stories to the surface.
