Britain’s oldest wine and spirit merchant has launched a publishing arm.

Berry Bros & Rudd Press is a new division within the UK-based wine company and will launch in October with a book by Burgundy buyer Jasper Morris MW.

Vicky Williams, PR manager at BBR, told decanter.com, ‘We have set up Berry Bros & Rudd Press to bring Jasper’s new book, Inside Burgundy, to the market and hope that it will be the first of many titles.

‘There are a lot of books that would suit a niche press company, something a bit different but something we feel consumers will like,’ she added.

This will be welcome news to many speciailist wine writers who have been forced to self-publish their books after many wine book specialists slashed their output.

The initial print run of the book, Inside Burgundy, will produce 5000 copies, and will be sold in Berrys’ stores and its website for £50.
