Fine wine merchant Berry Bros & Rudd is set to launch an online trading platform.

The new service will allow customers to trade their reserves on the BBR site and set their own bid prices.

Sales director Simon Staples told decanter.com ‘Customers with accounts will be able to broker their own wine. BBR may buy back some of those cases but it is likely to be customer to customer.’

Non-BBR customers will also be able to buy the wines on sale.

The company is currently testing the trading platform with a view to launching before Christmas.
