Cathy van Zyl MW is South Africa’s only resident MW and is a regular wine judge at home and abroad. She is co-founder of and a regular contributor to web magazine Grape, co-authored the South African chapter of the South African chapter of The Wine Report for four years, and writes for international wine publications. She is a member of the Institute of Masters of Wine’s education committee, mentors several South African students on the MW programme and lectures for the Cape Wine Academy on tasting. Her biggest role is associate editor of Platter’s South African Wine Guide.
