Top French chef Alain Ducasse is set to launch a new London restaurant later this year, inside the capital’s five-star Dorchester hotel.

Although the actual name of the new eatery remains a mystery, the restaurant will have a 70-person capacity with views over Hyde Park. A private salon is also planned.

Ducasse, who was born in south west France, currently holds 14 Michelin stars worldwide – the largest number of stars held by any chef.

Spoon, the Ducasse restaurant in London’s Sanderson hotel and part of a global chain including restaurants in St Tropez, the Mauritius and Hong Kong, closed on 5 February.
