Jasper Morris MW wins 2010 André Simon Award with Inside Burgundy
At a presentation last night in London Inside Burgundy – the vineyards, the wine & the people by Jasper Morris MW won the 2010 André Simon Drink Book Award.
Sarah Jane Evans MW, who presented the award, said: “It is a labour of love – Jasper’s life work – and it is beautifully written. A detailed book on Burgundy could have been inaccessible but the design is excellent – it looks modern and draws you in.”
This is the first title published by recently formed Berry Bros & Rudd Press. It costs £50 and is available only through Berry’s in the UK. “This means the book is sold at full price and avoids making uneconomic deals with amazon and Waterstone’s,” said Simon Berry, Berry’s chairman.
An electronic version of Inside Burgundy is expected to be available shortly.
