Rare wines including 1949 Chateau Lafite, 1982 Haut Brion, 1934 Ausone and 1970 Vega Sicilia Unico were auctioned at Christies’s Manhattan yesterday.

The sale – all the wines came from the cellars of celebrated Manhattan French restaurant Lutèce, which closed on Valentine’s Day this year – realised US$129.377, just under the high estimate.

Other fine wines in the sale included 1914 Lafite, 1986 Mouton, 1887 Cos d’Estournel, 1988 Pol Roger Sir Winston Churchill, and 1990 Pommery Cuvée Louise.
