Mike Ritchie, judged for the DWWA 2010 panel for Spain

Mike Ritchie was born in London, but lived in Paris in his teenage years; and has now worked in the UK wine business for more than three decades. He passed his MW in 2002, and was awarded the commercial and business-related Errazuriz prize. Initially he worked at Saccone & Speed as a graduate trainee, and has gained a wide range of experience throughout the trade. He was instrumental in the early growth and success of London City Bond where he worked for seven years. Since 2006 he has worked with Spanish specialist Moreno Wines and is selling their wines around south-east England, while helping to develop Moreno’s increasing non-Spanish wine range. Married with two teenage daughters, he enjoys tennis, bridge and cooking.
