A new wine retail website has been set up by three Masters of Wine to showcase and sell wines that 'over deliver for their price.'
The website, winetrust100.co.uk, which launched yesterday (Wednesday 3rd April) – is a joint venture set up by three Masters of Wine: John Hoskins MW, Sarah Abbott MW and Nick Adams MW, with additional expertise from ex-Tesco retailer John Valentine.
The aim of the site is to promote a list of 100 wines that offer ‘exceptional value for money, across a range of styles, regions and price brands.’
Speaking at the launch of the new site on Wednesday evening, John Hoskins MW told decanter.com that their website offers consumers ‘a different way of wine scoring.’
Their USP is that the website lists each wine according to its ‘QPR’ score (Quality Price Ratio), a first for online wine retail.
The key advantage, Hoskins believes, is that the score does not relate to the wine’s quality alone, ‘we are giving value the emphasis, rather than pure quality,’ he said.
According to the MW trio, the selection will change on average once a month as wines sell out, new wines are discovered or current wines pass their ideal drinking window.

Of the 100 wines on offer, 80 are less than £20 per bottle.
Delivery is free to mainland UK addresses for 12 bottles or more, otherwise the standard charge is £10.
