Wines of New York and Brazil to debut at Decanter New World Fine Wine Encounter

The wines of Brazil and New York as well as the classic New World wine regions will be showcased at next month's Decanter New World Fine Wine Encounter.

The most renowned wineries from Argentina, Chile, Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, Brazil and the US will be showing their finest wines at Decanter’s latest event at the Landmark Hotel in London on 14 May.

For the first time ever, Chile takes over the Featured Nation Room, with speed tastings where groups of three or four guests can meet winemakers in person.

There will also be tourism experts to advise on how to get the most out of a wine trip to Chile – and Carmenere and curry tastings to demonstrate how Chile’s aromatic and spicy signature grape goes perfectly with Britain’s favourite Indian sauces such as Masala and Korma.

In the New World Discovery Theatre, The New York Wine and Grape Foundation presents a tour of the Long Island wine region, and Wines of Brazil shows the diversity its wine regions.

In the Masterclass room, Decanter contributors Stephen Brook and Anthony Rose lead two masterclasses on Icons of the New World and New World Pinot Classics.

Brook will be showing wines from Cheval des Andes, Tapanappa, Penfolds and Stag’s Leap among others, while Rose includes great Pinots from Craggy Range, Domaine Drouhin and Au Bon Climat.

The third masterclass examines Australia’s old vines, with Michael Fragos, chief winemaker at Chapel Hill in McLaren Vale, and Steve Flamsteed, winemaker at Innocent Bystander in the Yarra Valley, showing how outstanding Shiraz can be when its made from vines that are over 100 years old.
