The Uco Valley boasts several old Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards including this one, which was planted in 1960 on an old, stony riverbed left by the Tunuyán river in La Consulta (975m above sea level). Sergio Casé uses grapes from here to make this memorable red, which has exquisite varietal character delivering aromas of redcurrant, blackcurrant and mineral notes. Firm and flavourful on the palate, it offers lively acidity and fine, grippy tannins.
