A rich, concentrated red with a fruity profile, featuring notes of ripe berry, preserves and blackcurrant, plus significant toasted notes and spice from the barrel ageing. On the palate, the spice and smokiness take on a barbecued quality, while the firms tannins ensure that it retains a good structure into the languorous finish. In 2004, the blend chosen by Bodegas Caro for its iconic wine was 55% Cabernet Sauvignon and 45% Malbec sourced from different vineyards in Luján de Cuyo and the Uco Valley in Mendoza.
