Planted on the stony bed of an ancient river within the Adrianna Vineyard, River represents a highly refined expression of Malbec from Gualtallary. Ageing for 18-21 months in old, 2,200L French oak foudres preserves a profile of violets, blackberry, plum, mountain herbs and aniseed, threaded through with the site’s limestone essence. On the palate it combines depth, tension and precision, with finely textured tannins. A wine of energy and elegance today, with the promise of significant evolution in bottle.
