In recent years, Huentala Wines has become one of the names to know in Gualtallary, with an expansive estate vineyard, hotel and restaurant. This Malbec comes from its La Isabel estate, one of the highest within Gualtallary, located at 1,400m altitude, where rocky soils have a streak of calcium carbonate. The wine spends more than a year in French oak, of which about a third is new. Amanda Barnes: Oak spice, Parma violets and plum juice, quite floral and expressive. Nice juicy style, uncomplicated and bright. MS Gently perfumed, ripe forest fruits, dark chocolate, dried herbs and a hint of spice. Juicy and seductive, sophisticated tannins and lively freshness. Dirceu Vianna Junior MW: Gorgeous fruit, so energetic and bright, silky yet firm and bursting with violet perfume. What an expression of the variety in the right place.
