The ‘Queen of Torrontés’, Susana Balbo has never shied away from experimenting with this variety. She has become increasingly focused on the potential of new vines in Uco (notably Paraje Altamira) over the old vines of Salta, and fermenting and ageing in oak barrels over the usual unoaked style. The result is a complex, concentrated and elegant Torrontés with intense pithy citrus character, fine notes of lavender and grapefruit, and a chalky, mineral finish.
