A minimal-intervention, cool-climate Syrah whose first vintage (2008) won Australia's most prestigious red wine prize. This is elegant yet intense, with flavours of macerated cherry, blackberry compote and pepper. It has a chalky, earthy minerality and great purity and persistence, with structure from 15 months' ageing in old oak puncheons. Succulent and very satisfying.
