Founded by Trevor and Marilyn Harch in 2007, this estate is very family oriented, named after their four grandchildren Bronte, Mackenzie, Charli and Jack, and each cuvée has significance, too – William Frederick is Trevor’s late father. The 2012 vintage saw ideal ripening conditions. Made by Shawn Kalleske from a 9.7ha vineyard of 1927-planted vines, the limited-release icon Shiraz in their range sees 28 months of new French oak. Justin Knock MW: Extremely ripe, lots of fig and olive, black treacly fruit, dry eucalyptus, turmeric, charcoal, soy and anise. Fans of the style will adore the thick, lush palate. Tina Gellie: Seductive, savoury, enticing stewed spiced plums and leather. Youthful, vibrant red fruits. Sweet and silky with great incense notes, lush and silky. Roger Jones: Perfumed dark fruits, hints of fresh offal. Juicy and bold, berry fruits, smoky hung ham, savoury herbs, focused rich liquorice toffee and cooked rhubarb.
