From Hoffmann’s 30-130-year-old vines in Ebenezer, which in 2010 experienced a mild summer and autumn resulting in even, early ripening, modest sugars and excellent acid retention. Aged for 52 months in 100% new French oak, this has a plush palate with creamy red berries, plum conserve and frangipane, then revealing chocolate malt, caramel, dusty earth, clove and kid glove leather nuances. An undertow of ripe, persistent acidity and supple tannins extend the finish of this seductive wine.
