This isn't as expressive or even as the 2010, with brooding sweet plum, freeze-dried strawberries, warm bricks and a firmer chassis of iron filing tannins. A touch of kirsch reflects some heat over the summer, bringing warmth to the finish. With time in the glass, sweet baking spices emerge together with nutty frangipane notes and the whole seems to meld. Aged for 50 months in 100% new French oak.
