Dark mulberry colour, dark personality. Typical of fruit from the Marananga sub-region in the Barossa, this plunges into the deepest black/purple spectrum, with all the expected bite, grunt and surly attitude that brings. The slide through a plush mid-palate is rich, smooth and satisfying. However, the acid, oak and tannin components all persist and bite hard as this wine finishes, making it seem rather hard and humourless. Time in the cellar may see its harshness soften.
