Zero rain fell between September and February, but thankfully March rains followed by an Indian summer helped the grapes attain full maturity. This has a sweet-scented palate with inky blackcurrant and cassis flavours alongside ultra-fine, papery tannins. An edge of green peppercorn speaks of the dry, warm vintage, whilst this Cabernet’s poise and clarity reflect the vineyard’s altitude (450m). It finishes long and penetrating, with a hint of rare roast beef. Aged for 18 months in French hogsheads, 42% new.
