This reserve selection Semillon from 50-year-old vines is reserved by nature as well as name. From a very dry, mild summer, it's intense but unshowy and reveals tantalising glimpses of lemon butter, fresh porcini, slightly green hay and green almond. 5% was aged on lees for six months in seasoned French oak for structure, not flavour. It's just starting to unfurl; doubtless it will warrant a higher score with bottle age.
