Koerner makes two distinct Vermentinos: one is identified by the French synonym, Rolle, while the Pigato bottling borrows the name of the Ligurian biotype of Vermentino. 

Extended skin contact imparts a deeper hue - two weeks for one half of the grapes and four weeks for the other half. The wine exudes aromas of orange, apricot and exotic herb flowers, with an iced tea character on the palate. Despite the chewy mouthfeel, it remains lively and light on its feet. Unfined, unfiltered and just a bit of SO2 added.
