Langmeil Winery in the Barossa Valley is home to what they claim is the country’s oldest Shiraz, planted in 1843. The estate also has some pretty old Riesling vines dating back to the late 1960s. The fruit for this wine is from a single vineyard in the Eden Valley planted in 1969, 1970 and 1981. It has a real bite and complexity with a tropical nose of guava and white peach as well as floral, hot leather and wax. Great length and stinging acidity close it out nicely.
