Frost damage halved the crop in 2017. ‘Cordon cut’ refers to a process of cutting the cane, leaving grapes to raisin on the vine before picking. Fermentation was stopped with 185g/l residual sugar, yet the wine shows remarkable purity and elegance. Still very youthful, the concentrated apricot-dominated palate also has pear and cinnamon notes. A touch of botrytis in 2017 added further complexity.
