This vintage has provided a voluminous nose of darkest blackberry and blackcurrant, with these flavours also arriving in the front palate with assertive force. To accommodate such a grand arrival, the mid-palate architecture is defined by a big oak-ribbed frame, but it’s too large for the midweight fruit that struggles to fill the space. As such, it seems an aspirational big wine statement rather than a true telling of the vintage story.
