The winter and spring of 2009 experienced the best rainfall in five years. It shows in the fleshy, succulent black cherry fruit. Classic Barossa Black Forest gateau notes make for a satisfyingly smooth, creamy, plush delivery. Riper caramelised fruit and a hint of kirsch speak to the ripeness of the fruit, as do the powerful but layered mocha tannins. This was the last vintage to feature American oak (10%).
