1982 was an outstanding year, distinguished by above average winter rainfall, a mild early summer and cool autumn. The antique gold hue of this wine speaks of another era: it was made by Alan Hoey when, though technically dry, wines had a touch of residual sugar. Together with this wine’s steady hum of acidity, it makes for a graceful, well-balanced palate with complex tertiary notes of honey, potpourri, orange peel and hot buttered toast.
