The clutch is firmly in reductive position here, with riffs on lime curd, mint and match-strike. Yet it is controlled nicely. Nothing overt, as the wine opens mellifluously with air. Anise, yellow plum and nectarine. Wet-pebble texture and maritime salinity mark a long, jittery finish. This needs time to flesh out. Returning the following day, the acidity is relentless, tucked beneath the flesh like a blade. Impressive wine that is just a bit rocky road and angular of feel. Patience needed.
