Established by father and son team Gary and Nick Farr, Wine By Farr is based in Geelong, with 36 acres under vine. Gary and Nick have extensive winemaking and vineyard experience, with both having worked at Domain Dujac in Burgundy and Cristom in Oregon, as well as other international wineries. The vines for the Farrside were planted in 2001 on limestone topped with volcanic black soil, in one of the cooler areas of the By Farr vineyards. The fruit is handpicked and fermented only with natural yeasts, and the wine is aged in 50-60% new oak for 18 months before release.

Roger Jones: Focused clean lingering wild berries with a soft delicate background. Rich layers of flavours, focused and clean with luscious tannins at the end.
Justin Knock MW: Masses of gun flint, hot metal, loads of interest and complexity, this is really good. Tangerine, citrus, powerful fruit, great whole bunches, black tea, quite ripe but super impressive. Excellent wine, it has everything.
Anthony Rose: Deep colour, ripe dark fruit aromas underlined by herbal notes, ripeness and light herbecaousness combining on the palate too with integrated oak and juicy seductive acidity.
