Taking its name from this handsome wine’s patient journey through 12 months in new oak, 12 months in old casks, then 12 months in bottle before release, the result captures a keen, graceful balance of fruit and texture. Lean and finely tuned, its nuanced meld of cherries, blackberries, baking spice and sage is sculpted by supple tannins. Further patience brings further rewards, as more textural layers unfurl after time in the glass. It should develop nicely in the cellar, too.
