Young, multi-clonal Hill Road vines from a steep slope produced this serious, restrained Pinot. A deep, complex nose and palate features red liquorice, chinato and star-anise accented red cherry and cherrystone notes. The palate has a dynamic warp and weft of fruit, tannin and acid, making for a beautifully integrated, finely structured palate. It spent 11 months in 228-litre Burgundian barriques from a range of coopers, 50%new.
