Initially reticent, before becoming starkly glorious! Grapefruit, orchard fruits and quince, with a waft of tatami lees work conferring breadth to the mid-palate. This is a wine from a deft hand that champions aggressive pressing to glean phenolics, while eschewing malolactic conversion. A brilliant vintage, too, as it was across most of Australia. A tightly coiled, sleek and strident Chardonnay, demanding at least eight years in the cellar.
