Aromas of cured meat, blackberry pie, nutmeg, warm asphalt, gentle cedar and a subtle dusty, ashy nuance. It's savoury but not at the expense of the trademark Scion freshness. The palate has lovely lift and a fresh, cooling, tensile feel with nothing weighed down by oak, extraction, or overt ripeness. Just-ripe blackberry, a glimmer of ash, plum, baking spices and a touch of meatiness glide through the palate effortlessly, before a vein of fine, chalky tannins take hold. This shows typicity but with an injection of freshness, energy and drinkability. Very good.
